We have launched the second edition of the technological manual on meliponiculture in an expanded version. The “Manual for the Integral Use of Products from Stingless Bees”, in addition to honey, also provides information on the management for the production and processing of propolis, pollen, and cerumen. With revisions and updates in all its sections, the publication highlights the updated legislation, the inclusion of a step-by-step guide for the environmental regularization of meliponaries, and a proposal for a processing center for native bee products. The second edition of this manual was produced within the scope of the PPP-ECOS project in the Deforestation Arc, with the support of the Amazon Fund, based on the knowledge of farming families, traditional peoples and communities, and the development of research, systematized by Jerônimo Villas-Bôas*, for the direct benefit of family producers and, consequently, the rich native fauna of stingless bees.
*Jerônimo is a researcher and meliponiculturist. He is also the author of the first edition of this manual and co-author of the 2nd edition of the Guide for the Development of Community Agro-industry Projects.
