The Portfolio presents the results of the partnership between the Institute for Society, Population and Nature (ISPN) and the Amazon Fund (FAMA), through the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), for the implementation of the Small Ecossocial Projects Program (PPP-ECOS) in the Amazon, specifically in municipalities located in this biome in the states of Maranhão, Mato Grosso and Tocantins.
Thus, we present the 77 organizations that have executed or are executing the 88 projects supported by the program between 2013 and 2017, with resources from the Amazon Fund. They will be presented through the organizations' fact sheets, where we characterize the proponent and their respective project.
Furthermore, we present the themes that we consider fundamental for understanding the relevance of carrying out the projects: strategies for processing and marketing socio-biodiversity products, bee products, community-based fruit pulp agro-industries, agroecology and environmental recovery, territorial and environmental management in Indigenous Lands, rural youth, and women's empowerment. Each project sheet indicates the themes it covers.
We hope, in this way, to highlight the program's contribution to generating socio-environmental, territorial, and global benefits, as well as to give visibility to these initiatives and the support mechanism for small projects.
