This primer is the first volume in the collection of Technological Manuals for Integral Utilization, which provides information on the agro-industrial processing of products from the socio-biodiversity of the Cerrado and Caatinga biomes.
The “Pequi Manual” was authored by Luís Carraza and João Carlos Cruz e Ávila and was developed from community experiences in the sustainable use of biodiversity in biomes, supported by the Small Ecossocial Projects Program (PPP-ECOS), within the scope of the FLORELOS project.
It contains basic guidelines for extractive management, main uses for each part of the fruit, processing flowcharts, as well as guidelines on good manufacturing practices. The manuals are aimed at communities and organizations that are starting or wish to improve their activities for the sustainable use of native biodiversity.
