ISPN, in its 30 years of supporting community initiatives, has learned that transforming realities requires starting with transforming people. With the Cerrativismo Project, an initiative to strengthen activism for the Cerrado biome, this learning was materialized in practices and actions. Through training, community leaders in Western Bahia were empowered to expand and improve their work, aiming to contribute to a better balance of power in the territory and to generate socio-environmental benefits in the region and the biome as a whole. And it is the story of this movement and these people that the book tells. Cerrativismo: an inspiring experience for training change agents;
Developed in partnership with the Institute for Social Development – IDS.

We hope that this reading will inspire other initiatives aimed at supporting, strengthening, and empowering more Cerrado activists, as well as Caatinga activists, Amazon activists, Atlantic activists, and many people who feel called to act in defense of threatened biomes and territories.

To carry out the project, ISPN relied on support from the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) and established partnerships with two organizations with a long history of working in this region: the 10Envolvimento Agency and the Association of Lawyers for Rural Workers (AATR), in addition to consulting services from IDS.
