Part of the Sustainable Technologies of the Cerrado collection, the “Technological Manual for the Integral Use of the Buriti Fruit and Leaf” is authored by Luís Carraza and João Carlos Cruz e Ávila and was developed from community experiences in the sustainable use of the biome's biodiversity, supported by the Small Ecossocial Projects Program (PPP-ECOS), within the scope of the FLORELOS project. With basic guidelines for extractive management, main uses for each part of the fruit, processing flowcharts, as well as guidance on good manufacturing practices, the manuals are aimed at communities and organizations that are starting or wish to improve their activities in the sustainable use of Cerrado fruits.
