Cooperation and Commitment Agreement between Indigenous Associations and Communities of the Caru, Rio Pindaré, Awá and Alto Turiaçu Indigenous Lands and FUNAI – TCC

This term aims to “regulate the contribution by Vale, in addition to the measures of primary responsibility of the Public Power, of financial resources for the benefit of the signatory indigenous communities, and use through the associations and Implementing Partner (ISPN), for applications in strategic actions of territorial protection, preservation and conservation of natural resources, economic sustainability and income generation, cultural strengthening, institutional strengthening, health, education, citizenship, basic sanitation and infrastructure, with observance and application in accordance with the terms approved by the Fiscal Council”.

The TCC is a partnership between Vale SA, Indigenous associations and communities, and the licensing agencies Funai and Ibama. The initiative involves the Guajajara, Ka'ápor, and Awá Guajá peoples of the Caru, Rio Pindaré, Alto Turiaçu, and Awá Indigenous Lands in Maranhão.
