The event will be a deep immersion in the defense of the biome and will bring together approximately 500 representatives of Traditional Communities and Peoples of the Cerrado. Fair, The event, which integrates the Meeting with the sale of products from the socio-productive chains of the Cerrado region, expects a daily circulation of 10 people to experience a festival of colors, sounds, and flavors of the Cerrado culture.
As part of political mobilizationThe meeting begins on September 13th with a public hearing in the Chamber of Deputies to discuss PEC 504/2010 – which proposes the inclusion of the Cerrado and Caatinga biomes among those considered national heritage by the Federal Constitution. The theme of the hearing is "Cerrado and Caatinga, heritage of Brazil: present wealth, future legacy". The official opening of the event will be on the 14th at 16 pm, with the presence of authorities, including the Minister of the Environment and Climate Change, Marina Silva.
Throughout the four days of the Meeting, there will be workshops, debates and round tables on public policies, climate change, traditional medicines, self-definition and self-demarcation of traditional peoples and communities, community philanthropy, among other topics.
An audiovisual exhibition about the Cerrado and its communities, as well as workshops on popular communication, are also part of the program, which will have a... rich cultural. The actress Leticia Sabatella will perform a music show on the evening of the 13th. Personalities such as Marcos Palmeira, Gregório Duvivier, Giovanna Nader and Maria Paula They have already confirmed their attendance.
There will also be a music show with Saci Were, Pé de Cerrado, Pereira da Viola, Fulô do Cerrado and Quilombo Gurutuba. Dancers from Ribeirão de Areia (Chapada Gaúcha – MG) and the Kalunga Group will also perform throughout the event.
A Cerrado Network It comprises 60 organizations, together with more than 300 partners, and aims to unify voices and efforts to conserve and enhance the richness of the Cerrado. The event is a production of the Cerrado Network with support from the Institute for Society, Population and Nature (ISPN), IPAM, WWF Brazil, Instituto Cerrados, Instituto Terra Azul, Funatura and the Ministries of Environment (MMA), Agrarian Development and Family Agriculture (MDA), and Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight against Hunger (MDS), as well as the Social Service of Industry (SESI).

The Cerrado Peoples' Meeting and Fair, held since 2001, is a space for exchanging experiences and organizing efforts in defense of the Brazilian savanna, the most biodiverse in the world, and its peoples. The 10th edition represents a moment of intense mobilization and integration among various sectors of society. Besides being a great celebration with a rich and diverse cultural program, the Meeting is an important occasion for political engagement, through influencing public policies and building networks for the commercialization of socio-biodiversity products.
