The 29th and 30th calls for proposals from the PPP-ECOS Fund will allocate more than BRL 7 million for traditional peoples and communities and family farmers
The Fund for the Promotion of Productive Eco-social Landscapes (PPP-ECOS) is releasing, on February 3rd, two calls for proposals aimed at traditional peoples and communities and family farmers in the Legal Amazon and Cerrado biomes, for sustainable activities that are alternatives to the predatory exploitation of the environment and natural resources.
For the 29th Call for Proposals (Legal Amazon/Amazon Fund), interested parties from the Legal Amazon regions of the states of Maranhão, Mato Grosso, and Tocantins can register until May 3rd. For the 30th Call for Proposals (TICCAS), initiatives from states belonging to the Cerrado biome are eligible to participate. The deadline for this registration is shorter, ending on March 8th. Some transition areas may register for both opportunities (check the calls for proposals for more information).

The resources for the Legal Amazon Call for Proposals are part of the partnership between PPP-ECOS and the Amazon Fund/BNDES, which is investing R$ 6,45 million in this call alone. In the ICTCAs Call for Proposals, the resources come from German cooperation (BMU) made possible through the GEF-Small Grants Programme and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), totaling US$ 300.

About the PPP-ECOS Fund
The Promotion of Productive Eco-social Landscapes (PPP-ECOS) is the main strategy adopted by ISPN in the pursuit of development with social equity and environmental balance. To enable this strategy, the Institute manages this independent Fund that raises and allocates resources to projects of community organizations working for environmental conservation through the sustainable use of natural resources, generating economic and social benefits. Today, the PPP-ECOS Fund's portfolio of funders includes the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Amazon Fund/BNDES, the Laudes Foundation, the European Union, and the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU).
