ISPN participates in Slow Food International event.

The coordinator of the ISPN Amazon program, Rodrigo Noleto, was in Turin, Italy, from September 20th to 24th, participating in Terra Madre, a Slow Food event that brought together chefs, family producers, social organizations, and government representatives from 160 countries that are part of the movement to exchange experiences and discuss healthy eating. In addition to this agenda, between the 26th and 27th, Rodrigo visited the city of Bra, touring the Slow Food International headquarters, the University of Gastronomy, where he met Brazilians who have scholarships at the institution, and a cooperative producing juices, meats, and other typical regional products aligned with the Slow Food philosophy.

“This movement has a strong connection with us. It uses food to promote change and social, environmental, and cultural justice,” Rodrigo comments.

According to Noleto, Terra Madre Brasil will take place in 2020, ten years after its first Brazilian edition in 2010. The city planned to host this important event for the debate on healthy and fair food is Salvador (BA), and ISPN is expected to contribute through the Small Projects Program (PPP-ECOS).
