ISPN extends the 31st PPP ECOS Call for Proposals for productive activities in Indigenous Lands in Eastern Amazonia.

Due to the intense agenda dedicated to the indigenous struggle this August, ISPN has decided to extend the deadline for applications to September 30, 2021. 31st Call for Proposals from the Fund for the Promotion of Productive Eco-social Landscapes (PPP-ECOS) – “Integrated Environmental and Territorial Management of Indigenous Lands in Eastern Amazonia”As a partner and supporter of the Indigenous movement, ISPN understands that this moment of struggle for original rights demands the full attention of Indigenous communities, whose representatives will be involved in the national mobilization "Fight for Life," both in person and remotely. In this sense, the extension aims to ensure that Indigenous organizations and partners have more time to develop their proposals and submit them without any prejudice.

We also emphasize that this call for proposals is intended to support initiatives that strengthen the environmental and territorial management of Indigenous Lands (ILs) in the State of Maranhão (MA) and northern Tocantins (TO), as well as the protection of their surroundings, guaranteeing Indigenous well-being and biodiversity conservation. Proposals may be up to R$50 and must address the following thematic areas: environmental and territorial management; Indigenous governance and participation; productive and sustainable activities; and environmental conservation and restoration. The target audience for this call is Indigenous, pro-Indigenous, and/or socio-environmental associations working with Indigenous peoples in Maranhão and northern Tocantins (Kraholândia and Apinajé ILs).

It is important to remember that the Covid-19 pandemic is not over yet, so it is essential that associations find ways to develop their proposals while avoiding crowds and following safety protocols, using masks and hand sanitizer, even among those who have already been vaccinated with both doses of the Coronavirus vaccine.

The 31st Call for Proposals of the Fund for the Promotion of Productive Eco-social Landscapes (PPP-ECOS) – “Integrated Environmental and Territorial Management of Indigenous Lands in Eastern Amazonia” is the result of a partnership between ISPN and the Indigenous Work Center (CTI), the Coordination of Organizations and Articulations of Indigenous Peoples of Maranhão (COAPIMA), the Articulation of Indigenous Women of Maranhão (AMIMA), and the Wyty-Catë Association. It also has the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
