Dona Dijé, the woman present in many.

"I am a woman, a Black woman, a coconut breaker. I am many things!"

In the early hours of today, a symbol of the struggle for Black women and traditional peoples and communities passed away. Maria de Jesus Bringelo, Dona Dijé, bid farewell to all those who accompanied her journey towards various freedoms. However, Dijé fought so hard in life and did so much for so many lives that she is not completely gone. With a firm gaze, a soft voice, and hands full of stories, she will always be present in the ways of life of the nut breakers, in the resistance and wisdom of the women who will continue the narrative she helped write in defense of rights and traditional territories. Her political and social protagonism remains among us, germinating in each new warrior who dares to fight to be many.

A tribute from ISPN to Dona Dijé and the various women represented in it.
