Canto da Coruja Community: socio-environmental podcast gets a new season.

On Environment Day, ISPN brings a celebration for those who enjoy listening.

The Owl's Song Community, a podcast series from the Institute for Society, Population and Nature (ISPN), is back with its sixth season, bringing inspiring stories and innovative solutions from Indigenous Peoples and Traditional Peoples and Communities, family farmers and environmental defenders in the Brazilian Cerrado.

The premiere episode addresses the issue of school meals in indigenous lands and traditional territories. The queen of Brazilian radio, journalist Mara Régia, talks with Sara Melo, from the Rede Núcleo do Pequi in Minas Gerais, and Laura Souza, executive secretary of the Observatory of Sociobiodiversity Economies (Osóciobio). They discuss initiatives to ensure that at least 30% of the food for school meals in indigenous lands and traditional territories is purchased from family farmers, thus promoting sustainability and generating local income.

In subsequent episodes, the podcast addresses topics such as integrated fire management by indigenous peoples, the challenges of Cerrado conservation, the importance of water in the biome, and innovative solutions for environmental conservation, such as agroforestry systems and agroecology.

With insightful interviews and moving stories, CANTO DA CORUJA COMUNIDADE highlights the fundamental role of Indigenous Peoples and Traditional Peoples and Communities and Family Farmers in building a more sustainable future for the Cerrado and for Brazil.

The Owl's Corner Community receives support from the Resilient Cerrado Project (CERES) with funding from the European Union.
