Indigenous Program for Permanence and Opportunities at the University - PIPOU
PIPOU supports the retention and qualified training of indigenous students in undergraduate courses at Brazilian universities.
Access is granted via public notice and those selected receive a scholarship and a notebook, in addition to participating in training activities aimed at academic and political strengthening.
PIPOU also establishes partnerships with universities to support and strengthen retention actions and social support initiatives, with the aim of inspiring public policies committed to equity in higher education.
Created in 2021 from a partnership between ISPN and Vale, with support from CMH and Double Arrow, PIPOU has already benefited around 200 indigenous students in different regions of Brazil.
